MESSAGE -JUNE 7, 2010

Parents:

This is the last week of summer school and I will be tying up a few loose ends. As of now, there shouldn't be too many changes in the grades. I know there are a few students who need to make up a test due to absences and turn in some assignments. I will be assessing students to get an overall picture of what was actually learned/taught this year. These are not graded assessments and have nothing to do with the final grades. These assessments help the teachers communicate from one year to the next and give a more concrete picture of your child's strengths and weaknesses.

We have had a very productive year and it has been my honor to serve you and your child as teacher. I will email individually those who I need to make recommendations for the summer and next year.

We will spend most of this week cleaning up our books and desks and preparing the room for the next school year. There are two things that will be helpful this week: 1). sandpaper (fine) and 2) paper bags /brown paper to cover books. An alternative, if anyone has access to jumbo stretchy book covers, that would be nice.
The website has the calendar of the the rest of the activities and dates.

I also promised you a booklist (attachment) and a few words of advice for the summer.

Thank you for all of your support this year. God Bless
